PRÁCTICA EN LA FRONTERA
Práctica en la frontera is installed in an exhibition space/museum in order to look for and investigate around the body, as an expression of a territory, and so as an attempt to make sweat her artistic work.Proyecto Conjugaciones stems from the need of Natalia Jiménez to share with the audience issues related to the complex processes of identity construction. To this end, she has been given voice to anthropology professionals, with video and drama, to develop a political discourse that claims the power of the enunciation of the body. These dialogues result in the creation of three artistic proposals, which hold themselves from the pleasure of walking on the border of the performer-audience relationship (Manifiesto en la frontera, Práctica en la frontera y Júbilo) emphasizing the themes of the project: inhabit the border, the "not normative" and the concept of subjectivity.
Natalia Jiménez and Jorge Gallardo have been collaborating since the Conjugaciones project (2011), where they have developed a practical research that has translated into various pieces focused on the work of the performer inhabiting a rustic stage, where the body is an unadorned being that constructs the entire architecture of the scenic act.
